Super Llama: Llamas are awesome! (28)
IT HAS ARRIVED. That's right--I'm typing this on my brand-new Asus ProStar [LettersandNumbers] gaming laptop! It came in the mail on Thursday (June 27), and I've spent the last few days transferring files and installing programs. As of now, I'm finally ready to start using this thing for actual stuff, like games and/or Apophysis. Speaking of Apophysis, my old computer is now a dedicated fractal-rendering machine! You can look forward to higher-quality images in my gallery, thanks to the fact that it no longer matters how long each image takes to render--I have a shiny new super-machine to entertain myself while the ol' Dell chugs away! At long last, I am finally getting a new computer! I"ve already placed the order, so in a week or two I'll have myself a gorgeous new high-performance gaming laptop!! :happybounce: Ye Olde Dell Inspiron is being semi-retired to make way for a sleek, shiny Asus ProStar [String of letters and numbers I haven't memorized]!! :squee: Once it arrives, I'll be able to churn out fractals like mad. I'll be using this old clunker to do the rendering, which I will be able to do at extremely high quality. After all, it won't matter how long it takes because I'll have a state-of-the-art super-laptop to entertain myself while this one does its thing, rathe

I've just acquired Apophysis 7x, courtesy of the amazing XyrusWorx. I've worked with Apophysis before, but only the older, simpler versions--namely 2.02 and 2.09--and I never really understood it enough to accomplish anything impressive. This time, I've got 7x, which is a real beast of a program, and has a much nicer GUI to boot. Starting now, I'll be reading tutorials like mad (something I avoided before, out of the mistaken belief that I could figure it all out on my own) and experimenting with the program until I develop enough skill to not feel completely pathetic next to geniuses like SuicideBySafetyPin or pillemaster. Even if I never m

Thanks very much for the :+devwatch: and all the :+fav:s!

I've kind of lost my fractal mojo over the last year or so and am not too active any more. But never say never...:-)
